We provide a number of high quality specialist services across Greater Manchester for a range of client groups. We also work with partner agents that enable us to provide accommodation and support to the more vulnerable members of the community.

All our Supported Housing services are externally monitored. Our services are person centred to focus on the needs of the individual and are provided by trained Irwell Valley colleagues.

Shore Green, Manchester

A unique development in Manchester, Shore Green is Irwell Valley’s flagship specialist service providing exceptional accommodation, support and care to older people with memory loss and dementia to enable them to live independent lives as long as possible.

This purpose built self-contained development situated in private gardens comprises one and two-bedroom flats and bungalows with safe and secure adaptations for people living with dementia enabling couples to live together within a secure and pleasant environment. All the accommodation is unfurnished so that residents can create a home with their own familiar furnishings. Extra accommodation is also available for visiting family members.

Shore Green has been highly commended by the Department of Health and medical experts for its personalised one-to-one care and support. Maintaining networks of relationships with family and friends is encouraged and through the many social activities provided at Shore Green residents are able to continue existing interests and skills and also learn new ones.

Shore Green, Manchester
Greenbank, Trafford

Greenbank, Trafford

In partnership with Trafford Council, Greenbank offers supported accommodation to homeless young people aged 16-19 years. Greenbank has a long track record of delivering an outstanding service to Trafford’s young people. The scheme is staffed 24/7, providing a safe and stable environment for residents.

An experienced and dedicated support team work closely with residents and partner agencies, delivering wide ranging support and advice in areas such as: health and wellbeing, budgeting, education, employment and training and re-housing through weekly one-to-one sessions, workshops and activities. Residents all have personalised support packages to help them develop independent living skills, realise their potential and move on successfully from the scheme.

The scheme’s bright and contemporary design comprises of 21 fully furnished rooms with en-suite shower rooms. This includes:

  • 2 emergency rooms for young people in crisis situations. The maximum stay is one week.
  • 19 supported rooms. The maximum stay in 12 months.
  • 4 move on flats, situated close to the main scheme for semi- independent living with floating support from the team at Greenbank.

Queensberry Place, Bury

Queensberry Place is a unique purpose designed supported housing service in Bury for people with a physical disability, sensory disability or learning disability. It’s aim is to support people to develop their skills to run a home and move on to greater independence within a 2 year timescale. There are 8 adapted flats; all have 2 bedrooms, kitchen and bathroom with modern facilities.

The modern design is wheelchair accessible, and further adaptations may be made to meet individual needs, subject to funding. Irwell Valley provides Assured Shorthold Tenancies, in addition Irwell Valley delivers housing related support.

Referrals with personal care needs must have an existing care plan already in place. Irwell Valley has a wealth of experience in providing ‘housing related support’ to a diverse range of vulnerable people in the community.

Queensberry Place, Bury
Morris Court, Manchester

Morris Court, Manchester

Morris Court in Manchester is a supported housing service for adults aged 18-65 years, with enduring mental health issues. Morris Court has successful history of helping residents gain the necessary skills to move on to independent living as well as addressing the practical problems and social issues they face, so that they can improve and maintain good mental and physical health.

The housing related support provided at Morris Court is based on the 'Recovery Model' and supports people in a person-centred way. Residents all have personalised support packages to enable them to develop independent living skills, realise their potential and move on successfully from the scheme within a 12-month period.

Morris Court is a purpose-built block containing 17 studio apartments with private bathroom and kitchens. Each flat is furnished with a settee, bed, bedside cabinet, table and chairs and contain a 24-hour emergency call system linked to our out of hours monitoring service.
