Irwell Valley is a charitable, not-for-profit housing association, providing housing and management services to over 7,000 households across the Greater Manchester area.
We are regulated by the Tenant Services Authority (TSA) who took over the regulatory role of the Housing Corporation in December 2008. Their main aim is to ensure that residents get the best possible services from their landlord.
Since the TSA took over from the Housing Corporation, they have been consulting with residents and housing providers. The TSAs proposals resulting from this consultation has now been launched as the New Regulatory Framework. A summary of this framework can be downloaded here (
click here for a copy). This document outlines the 6 new standards for social housing providers. It describes the outcomes the TSA expects to see delivered as well as outlining their expectations of housing providers in terms of setting out what we will offer to residents. The TSA also expects housing providers to set local standards based on the priorities of the local communities. We have distributed a copy of this summary to members of our Residents Committee with the attached report (

As a registered provider of housing, we are also open to being inspected by the Audit Commission and we have recently been "short notice inspected." To find out more about our recent inspection - including finding out what the outcomes of the inspection were and how you can get involved in the next stages (including how you can help shape and agree how to improve our services even more) please click here.
