Irwell Valley is committed to developing innovative homes and communities, which make great places to live. Here are some of our most forward-thinking developments:
Transport and General Workers Union (TGWU)
TWGU is a joint venture between Irwell Valley and Lovell Partnerships. The scheme consists of 18 Irwell Valley shared ownership apartments and an additional 13 apartments which have been marketed for outright sale by Lovells.
The development is situated in the heart of Salford's Housing Market Renewal and Chapel Street Regeneration area and has been built on the site of the former Transport and General Workers Union’s building.
Shore Green, Wythenshawe
Irwell Valley’s Shore Green development in Wythenshawe is a supported housing project for people with dementia and Alzheimers.
The scheme consists of several self-contained flats with a communal lounge, kitchen and garden, which allows residents to enjoy a sense of independent living, while having reassurance that care is on hand if needed. Shore Green also incorporates a number of self-contained bungalows that are designed for couples. The bungalows allow both partners to stay together, despite illness, as appropriate care facilities are available on-site.
Chorlton Park
Developed in partnership with Urban Splash, Chorlton Park in Manchester is a multi award-winning scheme, which was awarded the CABE Building for Life Silver Standard Award.
Demonstrating innovation, both in construction and in the way it uses space to respond to the needs of first time buyers, the development combines great functionality with a striking visual appearance. A highly insulated MMC timber frame structure, together with high specification doors and windows, works to keep fuel costs down to around £5.00 per week.
Textilis
Textilis is a shared ownership development located in the heart of Stockport’s entertainment quarter. Created in a joint venture between Seddon Regeneration Limited and Irwell Valley, Textilis is designed to meet the needs of first time buyers and key workers.
In recognition of the development’s innovative design, Textilis was recently awarded a Commendation in Stockport’s first Conservation and Design Awards.
Queensbury Place
Queensbury Place in Bury comprises eight two-bedroom disabled-access flats, which have been designed for severely disabled residents aged 18-50.
Developed with a £580,000 social housing grant, Queensbury Place provides a contemporary, living space that enables independent living for disabled residents. The site is situated in landscaped gardens and offers modern, accessible facilities including a communal lounge.
Surrey Road
Irwell Valley has recently completed 12 new build, split-level family homes, including two homes that are specially adapted for wheelchair users. The Surrey Road development is available on a shared ownership basis.
In line with the Housing Market Renewal Pathfinder programme, Surrey Road will also incorporate a community drop-in centre for residents.
