Europe's largest public park Heaton Park is just on the doorstep of both Prestwich and Whitefield. The park has an award winning golf course, tennis courts, boating lake, animal farm, pitch and putt, and an observatory. It also has a tramway system and museum. There’s a busy events schedule of theatre and concert productions and the Grade 1 listed Heaton Hall is open throughout the summer.
Philips Park Local Nature Reserve is on the boundary of Whitefield and Prestwich. The main entrance is on Park Lane, Whitefield.
Bury offers a wide range of entertainment, cultural and modern leisure facilities. Vue Bury is just off the M66 and The Met Arts Centre is a live venue in the heart of the town. Bury Art Gallery & Museum is nearby.

The biggest in the North West, Bury Market is open Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays for quality products and bargains in a 200,000 square feet space. It’s estimated 250,000 shoppers visit every week and it’s a destination for day-trippers and coach tours.
