Timperley is about 3 miles north of Altrincham and 7 miles from Manchester.
Leisure
Altrincham Leisure Centre is one of the largest in Trafford offering a host of facilities including fitness studios, a pool badminton and squash courts, sauna, sunbeds, a café and crèche.
The Garrick Theatre and The Club Theatre are both central to the town.
Nearby Sale offers plenty of attractions including the Trafford Water Sports Centre, where courses such as sailing, windsurfing and kayaking are available. The Sale Waterside Arts Centre is an exciting at a stunning waterside location, with a 350-seat theatre, exhibition gallery, creative learning spaces and an outdoor events plaza with bars and restaurants.
Tourist attractions include Dunham Massey Hall and Park, Tatton Hall and Park and Arley Hall. There’s also easy access to the Peak District National Park (an hour’s drive) and the Lake District.

The main shopping streets in Altrincham are Stamford New Road and pedestrianised George Street where as well as a good selection of independent retailers large multiples such as Marks and Spencer, Next, Rackhams, Boots, Woolworths & WH Smiths can be found.
Altrincham Market, with over 180 stalls, is close to the George Street shopping area and a short walk from the Metrolink/Bus interchange and Taxi Rank.
Food and Drink
There’s a great mix of restaurants and café bars complemented by a lively night-time economy. Award winning restaurants can be found with menus from around the world. There is also a cosmopolitan feel to the open air eating places at Goose Green and Kings Court.
Public Transport
The Manchester Metrolink tram network passes through the village; Timperley Metrolink station lies on the route between Manchester City Centre and Altrincham. Access to M56, M6, M60 and M62 Motorways is just ten minutes drive away. Manchester Airport being only 5 miles from Timperley means that convenient international travel is virtually on the doorstep.
