Northenden
Northenden is about seven miles south of the city centre of Manchester. It’s south of M63 motorway and east of Princess Parkway - so there's good access to Manchester Airport and the motorway network to other areas of South Manchester and Cheshire
Leisure
Wythenshawe Forum offers leisure, learning and childcare facilities including a swimming pool, gym, sports hall and fitness centre. There's also a health centre children's nursery

The refurbished Forum library has all the very latest facilities to give local people instant access to employment and learning opportunities.

Wythenshawe park - one of the biggest and best in the city - is just over Princess Parkway. There's a horticultural centre, pets corner, crazy golf, horse riding, bowling greens, pitch and putt, tennis courts an athletics track, football pitches and much more.

There are small parks in Northenden itself - on Homewood Road and Kenworthy Lane. There are playing fields, open meadows and walks in the Mersey valley on the other side of the motorway (reached by footpath). The walk to Didsbury goes through one of three local golf courses. The Parrs Wood Entertainment complex in Didsbury is a great destination for cinema goers.
Shopping
Northenden village is a thriving centre, with a good range of independent shops, Woolworths, a mini Tesco, bars, restaurants and banks. There is a library and several post offices in Didsbury village about a mile and a half away which also offers great shopping – and excellent places to eat and drink.
Public Transport

There is excellent public transport with regular buses to the city centre, the airport and other parts of South Manchester. For all bus and rail enquiries contact GMPTE call: 0871 200 22 33 (calls cost 10p per minute from landlines) - Open between 7am and 8pm Mondays to Fridays and 8am and 8pm on Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays.
