Irwell Valley wants to encourage you to take pride in your garden. Working in your garden is a good way to relax, and it doesn’t take much work before you can really see a difference in your surroundings. Well-kept gardens also create a better living environment for yourself and your family and also contribute to fantastic communities.
Garden inspections
To make sure gardens or lawns are regularly maintained, Irwell Valley carries out garden inspections as part of our annual external inspection of properties.
Here’s what we expect to see:
- Hedges and privets are trimmed and tidy.
- Grass and lawns are a reasonable length and are not overgrown.
- Bulky rubbish or other unreasonable mess has been removed.
- A good standard of general tidiness.
Help is available for older people, the disabled or anyone who has problems looking after their garden. For more information, contact your Neighbourhood Officer.
