The government has confirmed that digital switchover will happen between 2008 & 2012. IVHA stock holding is predominantly based in the Granada & Yorkshire television regions.
Digital switchover:
Granada region is 2009
Yorkshire region is 2011
This means that the existing analog terrestrial television transmitters will start to be switched off in 2008.
Individual Aerial Reception
If you are responsible for your own TV system then you will need to start preparing for digital switchover. Residents will need to take steps to ensure they are able to receive digital TV signals. At switchover, all TV sets must also be equipped with a digital receiver. However that receiver, be it a digital set top box or digital TV set must also have access to the appropriate digital signals.
When you are selecting an installer, look for a company or individual that is a member of a trade association, such as the Confederation of Aerial Industries (CAI)
Communal TV systems
To assess the condition of existing communal systems we will shortly begin to undertake surveys to schemes that have communal TV systems. The survey information will enable IVHA to prepare recommendations to either convert or upgrade systems.
