Government Minister Praises Greenbank

Minister for Children, Schools and Families, Beverley Hughes MP, visited Greenbank today and congratulated staff and residents on their outstanding results in the Government’s Quality Assessment Framework review.

The supported housing scheme for homeless 16- 25 year olds in Trafford is managed by Irwell Valley, and recently achieved 8 As in the assessment that sets the standards for supporting service providers.

The Stretford and Urmston MP, who officially opened Greenbank in 1997, toured the facility, which equips vulnerable young people with independent living skills.

Commenting on her visit, Beverley Hughes said,

"I was hugely impressed by both staff and residents at Greenbank. There's clearly a great deal of good work going to support young people, helping to overcome problems and putting them on the path to success."

Giles Parlett, Supporting People Manager at Irwell Valley commented,

“I am hugely pleased and proud that the service at Greenbank has been recognised for the fantastic
work that it does in helping young people in Trafford develop their independence and fulfill their
potential. I would like to thank the residents, the dedicated staff team and all the other agencies involved in helping us gain this recognition.’’
