The Neighbourhood Management Service
Irwell Valley had adapted its Neighbourhood Management Service to ensure that it delivers the best possible service for residents. Our Neighbourhood Management Service is delivered through our four area offices, which are grouped into two geographical regions, the North and the South.
In the South, we operate from our Paragon House and in the North, our Haughton Green and Bolton offices provide a fast and efficient, day-to-day neighbourhood management service.
To deliver our first class service within individual communities, every area has an allocated Neighbourhood Manager. Their role includes:
- Carrying out initial visits within 3-6 weeks of a customer moving in to their home
- Carrying out regular tenancy visits
- Carrying out neighbourhood inspections on a monthly basis
- Dealing with low level anti-social behaviour (ASB) and nuisance cases
- Dealing with tenancy enquiries, including transfer and assignment requests
- Dealing with general tenancy breaches and neighbourhood issues, including graffiti and fly tipping
- Liaising with resident groups and working in neighbourhoods to ensure sustainability of tenancies and communities.
- Liaising with local authorities and partner agencies
Our Ranger Service forms another part of our Neighbourhood Management Service. Developed over the last 7 years, our Ranger Service provides a visible presence within neighbourhoods and works within the community to reduce incidents of anti-social behaviour and low-level crime. They also help to provide a constant reminder of residents’ rights and responsibilities.
What our rangers do:
- Environmental Work: Removal of graffiti, abandoned vehicles and fly-tipping in co-operation with local authorities
- Community Development: Support for community events, such as area clean-ups, cultural events, fun days
