Private Sector Empty Homes Initiative

Irwell Valley is currently working with a number of local authorities on Private Sector Empty Homes Initiatives.

Within these scheme, empty properties are purchased by Irwell Valley and the local authority. The homes are then refurbished beyond the Decent Homes standard using funding and re-let at a sub-market rental level.

After 4 years, properties that were acquired in the first year are sold at the open market valuation and the funds are used to acquire more empty homes.
