After weeks of fundraising events, Irwell Valley colleagues and friends have raised over £14,000.00 for Help For Heroes
They covered thousands of miles in sponsored walking, running, cycling and swimming events across the North West as well as a mammoth 48 hour motorbike challenge from Dover to World War 1 and 11 Memorials in France and Belgium - to boost funds for Help For Heroes, the charity that supports returning wounded personnel serving in current conflicts.
Their spirited efforts were backed by host of celebrities including actress Beverley Callard of ITV’s Coronation St (above) and Falkland’s War veteran, Simon Weston OBE, who will officially present the cheque on behalf of Irwell Valley to Help For Heroes at a ceremony in Manchester in September.
