In celebration of ‘one year to go’ until the London 2012 Games, Manchester Sport and Leisure Trust and Wythenshawe Forum Trust will open up their facilities for FREE.
On Sunday 24 July, anyone can enjoy FREE access to 16 local leisure centres and sports facilities across Manchester in celebration of the ‘1 year to go’ countdown until the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Local Mancunians are invited to take part in a great range of sports through FREE access to facilities as part of a series of sporting and cultural events taking place across the UK during the London 2012 Open Weekend supported by BP. Everyone can enjoy Zumba classes, swimming, squash, badminton, 5-a-side football, tennis and many, many more activities, all available for FREE throughout the whole day.
Clare Goatman, Community Engagement and Partnership Manager, Manchester Sport and Leisure Trust wants everyone to get involved and do FREE sport on the 24th July. Clare commented “We’re really pleased to be able to invite Mancunians into our leisure facilities on our Open Day to help kick start the buzz around the Olympic and Paralympic Games. This is a great opportunity for people to try out a fantastic range of facilities and activities as we begin the countdown to the biggest sporting event in the world, and we hope that old and young alike enjoy the free access they can benefit from on the day.”
