What We Mean By 'Fairness'

Reform, Fairness and Growth

The Comprehensive Spending Review places enormous challenges on all of us to look at services in a different and radical way.

The theme of the Chancellor’s budget for the next 4 years is based upon reforming existing structures, systems and responsibilities, fairness in an effort to ensure that all citizens feel they are part of society, and growth in terms of the economy.

Over the last year, Irwell Valley has been radically overhauling the way we deliver services, choices on offer and value for money.

From 2011, we will launch our best customers, best homes, best services offer which, in a nutshell, will reform what we do, provide greater fairness and grow the opportunities available to our customers.

In simple terms, we will be aiming to ensure Solid Gold residents always live in the best homes that are modern and desirable, and that they receive a fantastic wide choice.

We will invest much more of our money into the houses of our best customers and we will also offer them first priority access to any of our homes that become available. It will never be the case that new customers live in better conditions than our best customers.

We are able to do all this from a very confident position where all of our homes exceed the Decent Homes Standard.

We are continually talking with our customers about how best to implement these proposals. They have been developed with you and I welcome further recommendations and comments on our plans. Please use the form below to post your views.

I Look forward to hearing from you.
