Irwell Valley has added a new customer service product for residents with the launch of their own tv channel – IV TV.
The service is especially great news for Irwell Valley residents without Internet access and is available on the Looking Local TV channel, through Sky, Virgin, Freeview (Autumn 2010), Nintendo Wii and mobile phones.
The channel went live on April 30 2010 and residents can now access any of Irwell Valley’s services - whether it’s requesting a repair, reporting anti-social behaviour or applying for a home - at the press of a button on the tv remote control or mobile phone.
With links into other local and national services including NHS Choices, Job Centre Plus, and transport schedules and latest news, viewers can also look up job vacancies, keep up-to-date with topical health issues, check bus and train times or find out what’s going on in their neighbourhood and how to get involved in community events.
There’s no charge, it’s 24/7, 365 days a year. It’s interactive and it’s secure.
Accessing IV TV is easy.

Irwell Valley’s CEO, Tom Manion says the red button technology is all part of the service.
“We aim to offer all our customers the widest possible options to benefit from our services. IV TV adds another tier to Irwell Valley’s customer service delivery and enables residents to access a wealth of news and information in their area.”
