They were asked to ‘rise to the challenge’ and they did just that on Friday when Irwell Valley joined millions of people up and down the country to raise money for the BBC’s Sport Relief.
Colleagues took part in a host of sponsored activities including a 30 min Bike Challenge, Five- A-Side Football and Rounders while via video link, staff in the Manchester, Bolton and Sale offices raised the roof with a sponsored marathon karaoke ‘Singathon’.
Local businesses offered their support with raffle prizes and also boosted the pot, dishing up and auctioning specially created breakfasts and lunches to motivate our charity champions.
Spurred on as well by regular announcements throughout the day on Manchester’s KEY 103 and Smooth Radio, Irwell Valley raised just under £1,500 for Sport Relief that helps to improves the lives of disadvantaged and vulnerable people in the UK and overseas.
