Congratulations to all my colleagues for our continuing successes at Irwell Valley. For the 5th consecutive year, we are ranked amongst the Top 50 Workplaces in the UK listing compiled by the Great Paces To Work Institute, which means that we have also earned a 'laureate award' for sustaining and championing excellence.
On top of this, Irwell Valley has been accredited by the International Corporate Research Foundation as one of Britain's Top Employers. We outperformed the benchmark on Working Conditions offering broad and flexible working arrangements. The survey also showed we have a lower absenteeism rate and turnover than our peer group and the country average.
Yes, we appreciate awards but it's much more than that. Our drive for continuing excellence in the workplace is intrinsic to our culture as it ultimately impacts on all our stakeholders - especially our residents - who benefit from our aim to engage colleagues in all areas of their work.
Finally, good luck to our Colleague Development Officer, Jane Hanson. Jane is behind many of the motivation programmes we run here at Irwell valley and she's about to take part in a mammouth 250k charity run in Uganda to raise money for the Uganda Red Cross. That's what we call actions speak louder than words. You can see how Jane gets on at
