Mounted Police & firefighters converge on Youth centre ...

But there's no need for alarm - it's all in a good cause!

Sale Youth Centre is opening its doors on Thursday 9th April 2009 to residents in Sale West and Ashton on Mersey for an exclusive opportunity to talk to the agencies providing services in their area.

Local police - including mounties - and fire fighters with appliances will be giving demonstrations and be on hand to meet the community to answer questions about home security and personal and neighbourhood safety.

Joining them will be representatives from the local Credit Union with money management and debt advice and Trafford Youth Service, providing information on further education, training and career opportunities in the local area.

Residents can also improve their "green" credentials with tips on recycling, setting up your own food co-operative and there will be an unmissable demonstration from the Association's award winning cafe - the Sunshine Cafe - with healthy eating, budget saving ideas.

The event is organised by Irwell Valley HA, which manages 1,700 homes on the Sale Estates.  Mali Pocsai, the Association's Neighbourhood Manager says:

"This is a great opportunity for the community to meet their service providers face to face and get answers to their burning questions.  It's taking place during half term and we're planning lots of activities to keep the kids busy - including a special baby cafe and creche - while the adults pick up useful information".

There will also be a free prize draw with the chance to win £50 - just in time to indulge in a few more Easter Eggs - healthy ones of course!

Thursday April 9: 12.00pm - 4.00 pm
