We try to respond to all your queries and ideas. Here are some examples of questions and suggestions made during focus groups, general meetings and "Meet the Chief Executive" sessions as well as our responses.
Anti- social behaviour
You said : "Does Irwell Valley issue letters to misbehaving children?"
We did : We take a number of actions when a report of anti-social behaviour is received. If the report involves a person under the age of 18, we contact the child's parent or guardian either by letter, telephone or in person as they are responsible for their childs behaviour. Prevention is key, so we have implemeted a number of initiatives designed to reduce anti-social behaviour amongst young people.
Neighbourhood Inspections
You said : " How can I get involved in a Neighbourhood Inspection?"
We did : All residents should have received a list of when Neighbourhood Inspections are planned for their area. All inspection dates can be found on the events calendar of this website. If you want to find out more information - please contact your neighbourhood office or your Neighbourhood Manager.
Improvement Works
You said : "Since new security doors were installed in our building, Royal Mail has been unable to access our letterboxes to deliver our post!"
We did : New communal entrance doors requiring personal key fobs for access were installed at Haughton Green. Unfortunately this meant that postal workers as well as other service providers were unable to enter the shared parts of the buildings. We have now issued the main service providers with key fobs.
Lettings & Neighbourhood Management
You said : "Remind new residents that they should take their own meter readings"
We did : This suggestion has now been added to our Sign Up procedures
You said : " In the future, I will need a bath & toilet downstairs. Can Irwell Valley help me do this, or grant permission for me to carry out the work myself?"

We did : Neighbourhood Managers are there to help you! We welcome all feedback - including complaints - so please get in touch!

You said : " Perhaps a telephone call to the residents at an early stage would confirm that the nature of the complaint is understood"
We did : We have a database to log, track and monitor the progress of all complaints. We are now setting up an auditing process to check that colleagues are following guidelines when handling your complaints.
