A message from our Chief Executive
“Irwell Valley is an award winning
housing association based in Manchester who have provided homes and services for people in housing need since 1973."
"Irwell Valley is founded on the values of a traditional housing association and we see ourselves as more than just a landlord. Our aim is to create fantastic homes and neighbourhoods for people to live in and fulfil their potential. Encouraging our customers and their families to make the most of their health and education is a key part of our overall aim."
"At the heart of our vision is Diamond Service
– through which we are working to ensure that our best customers get the best homes and services. We believe that our customers should take responsibility for theirs and the actions of their families. It rewards positive, loyal behaviour with rewards and benefits and actively discourages negative practices such as non payment of rent and anti-social behaviour
"For us, Diamond Service is a natural progression from our original rewards and incentive scheme – the award winning Gold Service. We are enormously proud of what we achieved through Gold Service, and believe that Diamond Service will have an even more positive impact in the years to come."
Tom Manion, Chief Executive, Irwell Valley Housing Association
We work hard to understand the needs and preferences of each of our 16,000 customers across Greater Manchester and tailor our services to significantly improve their quality of life. We actively encourage customers to get involved in the running of the organisation and provide us with feedback on our services and policies. To make sure we are in touch with customers’ points of view, we hold regular resident forums and have a dedicated Customer Involvement Officer.
In 2007, we set up a new Neighbourhood Management Service
, which provides each resident with their very own Neighbourhood Manager who is based in their community to deliver services directly to their door and works to deliver a range of community initiatives and improvement schemes.
A Positive Environment
As many of our colleagues work within our neighbourhoods on a daily basis, Irwell Valley have a visible presence and can address issues such as anti-social behaviour
(ASB) and crime, quickly and efficiently.
Irwell Valley has a long-term commitment to reducing ASB throughout its communities and works in partnership with other agencies, such as the police and local authorities, to tackle the issue. Throughout the years, we have pioneered several successful schemes, which have to reduced incidents of ASB. To find out more, please click here
